Cake with a Hole in It
Yes, I borrowed a line from one of my favorite movies to name this cake; it’s a sinfully delicious chocolate scratch cake, baked in a Bundt pan. Did you know that in the past, when companies were trying to market to “housewives”, they would include recipes using their products? Don’t believe me? Google it. This is NOT a new recipe. In fact, your grandmother probably has it written on an index card in her recipe box. Go ahead… check now.
A cake for any reason - dinner, birthday, holiday, just because… It’s yummy, moist and filled with mind blowing happiness. I bake one about every three weeks, just for me; it’s that good.
To take the cake (giggle) over the top, grab some fresh strawberries or raspberries, toss them in a small saucepan with a few tablespoons of water. Let the berries cook over low heat. Don’t walk away; stay and watch the seeds expand (image that comes to mind is Violet Beauregarde in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I know, eww, but it IS funny). Once the seeds have “Violeted”, dump the pan contents into a strainer and press the fruit through the mesh. You should have a little under one cup of sauce. Slice the cake, spoon a bit of sauce on each piece. Sin on a whole new level!!!
Please note: This cake cannot be shipped, but it can be delivered! Whenever I am traveling, I post on my IG and FB pages. That way, you can order from me - personally - and I will hand carry a cake to you!
GF Flour, unbleached sugar, cocoa, eggs, sour milk, coffee, coconut oil, vanilla, baking soda, baking powder, salt
